This EL of 102 km² is adjacent to Cootamundra, NSW and contains the previously worked Bauloora Mine which recorded production of 4000 tonnes of up to 17.9% Pb, 49.0g/t Ag, 3.4% Cu, 11% Zn and 8.0g/t Au. The main lode extended for 250 metres on the surface and approximately 60 metres below the surface. Mineralisation occurs in a breccia zone in host rock of acid porphyry in a structure over 600m.
A zone of epithermal alteration and mineralisation defined by anomalous gold and lead measures 27km 2 in area contains five untested targets.
Previous drilling gave high Au, Ag and base metal values up to 27.6% Zn, 8.9 g/t Au, 101.0 g/t Ag, 6.9% Pb from various intersections. A channel sample 91.5m x 0.8m along the bottom level of Bauloora Mine gave: 4.5 g/t Au, 42.0 g/t Ag, 15.6% Zn, 8.2% Pb, 1.6% Cu.
Mineralisation in this EL is widespread with stream sampling, rock chip sampling and drilling all showing interesting prospects. There are a number of untested aeromagnetic anomalies to be investigated. The EL is seen as highly prospective.
Exploration Programme
A lower grade Au-Ag-Cu epithermal multiple brecciated quartz vein open pit minable deposit is an attractive target for Robust as is a high grade massive sulphide (Woodlawn Type) deposit and exploration for these will be conducted as below. A number of prospects at Bauloora warrant testing. Several areas are selected that warrant field evaluation from the assessment of aeromagnetic/radiometric data - two close to the Bauloora Mine and two under alluvial cover west of Bauloora Mine which have similar magnetic signature to Bauloora and require drilling.
The chert/silica sinter zones and mineralisation will be evaluated and tested. Further evaluation of the Bauloora Mine (particularly along strike extension) and Bauloora East Prospect and the area between will be tested. The prospects in the epithermal envelope will be assessed and tested with drilling.
Drilling of I.P. anomalies will be carried out after further definition of targets. Further IP surveying will be carried out over the Bauloora East Prospect and the breccia/sinter zones to determine the potential below previous shallow drilling.
