Bashkol Project

Location of Bashkol in Kumtor-Kensu Ore Zone
The tenement was most recently explored by KGL Resources who initially acquired the tenement in 2003. Fieldwork was carried out by Kentor in 2005/6, and later in an arrangement with Gold Fields conducted extensive reconnaissance fieldwork in 2012.

Under the deal with KGL Resources announced in September 2013, ROL was granted the right to earn a 51% interest in CJSC Kentor (owner of 80% of Bashkol, 20% held by the Kyrgyz Geophysical Expedition, or KGE, an arm of the Government) by expenditure of A$2m by the end of 2017.

A further 19% ownership can be achieved my spending an additional A$5m by September 2021.

The Bashkol area is believed to be a continuation of the Kumtor trend, with the Kumtor mine located 60-70km to the SW of the licence area. In 2012, a team of geologists from Gold Fields and Kentor conducted field work in the area and delineated gold mineralisation distributed over an area of approximately 3 square kilometres associated with altered granites. The best grades were identified in a zone 1.5 x 0.5km long, known as Bekbulaktor, in the north-east of the licence.

Trenching intercepts reported at Bekbulaktor include 12m @ 14.1g/t Au, 8m @ 5.65g/t Au and 37m @ 2.65g/t Au across a 2km strike length. This target remains the priority for follow up, with a planned 2,000m RC drilling program at the Bekbulaktor prospect as soon as appropriate planning, resourcing and permits are concluded.
